The information graphics were designed based on a particular social issue chosen by interest. It was meant to be shown as a newspaper feature, a story to be told to mass readers about a particular situation in Hong Kong. Relevant data had to be obtained from government or trusted sources to complete the task. Combing and filtering of data were steps essential to pick out important information that we would like the audience to read for immediate understanding.

A Social Issue :
information graphics

This information board came from a series of five designs created based on the common topic of 'shopping' (or unnecessary purchases). In this particular one, it illustrates the causes of unnecessary purchases from a few aspects with the help of standardised and easy-to-read pictograms. The use of illustrations creates the center of attention and brings an interesting story to the readers as well:

The main character (girl in the middle)'s mind is invaded by a bunch of little aliens (a metaphorical presentation of a person's money-spending eagerness) and thus, they turn her into a shopaholic.

GET OUT OF MY MIND!

A new design approach to the
user-oriented bus route map.

Redesigning KMB's
bus route map

KMB's bus route maps are used almost every day by local residents or tourists in Hong Kong. Its design has to be very much user-oriented, when it is that frequently used by the public. The new design for KMB's bus route map was created in accordance to the company's style and theme colors for easy recognition, while some of the problematic elements from the old design were improved through using clearer visual directions (e.g. a simple timetable without abundant time sessions/change of fare for different stops indicated by dotted/non-dotted lines).
